I use 50 cal muzzle loader balls . There are easy to cast and if you use wheel weight the cost is zero , just make sure you NEVER shoot them in a muzzle loader . Pure lead is $.50 pound and 50 cal weight 180 gr each = to 38 balls per pound

Steel ball bearings were the best although we would also shoot cheap ugly marbles.

I cast some round balls .451 and made the pocket in the slingshot fit them . The ball will stay in pocket like it was glued in there and won't fallout if carry around . I will try and shoot it tomorrow .
