Nice doe! Congrats. I am going for mine in a couple weeks. Back to Nebraska, for some corn fed deer.

info appreciated .... understood on the fair weather part .... the older I get, the fairer the weather has to be .. :? .. I've never handled an inline muzzle loader or sabot but have heard good things about both .... sounds like a hunt that will get better with years of retelling .... :D

Congrats Thumb cocker! I'd be interested in more pictures of that Barn! Looks like it has some character!

Congrats on the doe, and I also understand the fair weather as I age.
I now have a couple of hunting house, and both have a heat source.
So on some of those less than desirable days I still have a place to go.

Thumb cocker wrote:The barn was built in the late 30s early 40s as a dairy barn for goats . It had stantions and clean-outs just like a dairy barn for cows . The old timer that built it used to cut his hay with a scythe and pitch fork it loose into the loft . He also had a privy that he used because he" wouldn't crap next to his kitchen ". He lost his goats to disease and never got another heard . He went into carpentry ,built barns, silos ,out buildings and most anything . He built one of my grandfather's dairy barns and he always worked alone .He did the finish work in my parents house too . I grew up across the street from him and his wife . He was uneducated and dyslexic, somehow his buildings were always square and strait .

Sounds like an interesting character with old world craftsmanship skills.
