Wyatt Earp
Well, I mentioned previously that my wife and I had been watching Rawhide shows. She has taken a liken to Westerns. And, Rawhide was becoming her favorite. After a few shows of Wyatt Earp, Rawhide is a vague memory. The interesting part, she is becoming a cowboy fan. So, my revolvers may be safe for now. At one point in time, she thought I had too many.

Re: Wyatt Earp
We just watched a series on Netflix last night, "Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War". It's a six episode series, but the episodes aren't very long, all less than an hour. I'm not all that big of an old west historian, so a lot of what the series covered was news to me, and it put things in a bit of a different light.
Anyway, I really enjoyed it and would recommend watching it.

In the scene where Wyatt is chasing Ike & Stillwell, it looks like Ike is carrying a Henry Golden Boy.
You can see the top right side ejection port.
I did enjoy it.

Re: Wyatt Earp
I'll second Tombstone, Val steals the movie but the rest of the cast does an outstanding job. All the scenes with Doc Holiday and Johnny Ringo are electric.
Deadwood is a great series, but be warned, language, nudity, and violence.
The acting is great, the costuming, great, set work, awesome.
But, did I mention language, nudity, (sexual situations) and violence?
Three Seasons, and a movie to close out the series ten years later.
Later you'll see a lot of these actors appear in Justified and Sons of Anarchy.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Re: Wyatt Earp
A few weeks ago we decided to watch a western. I suggested to my wife we watch Tombstone due to so much conversation about it on here. We both believed we had seen it when it came out in the 90’s (?) but thought a rewatch was worthwhile. Well we quickly discovered we hadn’t seen it before (crazy I know) and enjoyed it thoroughly.
+1 on Deadwood, get by the R rated stuff and it’s a great series.

My wife is not into country living as much as I am, but she sure likes westerns and we watch them every Saturday. Alias Smith and Jones was our favorite for years, until we watched every one of them over and over (they only made 50 of them). But our new one is Gunsmoke. We have many more to go as they made 635 of those, lol.

You can get the family friendly version of Deadwood. You can watch all 3 seasons in 10 minutes.

If you include the movie that came out ten years later, it's about 15 minutes...RanchRoper wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 12:57 pmYou can get the family friendly version of Deadwood. You can watch all 3 seasons in 10 minutes.

Re: Wyatt Earp
Over the past year or so, as I recall, we started off with a John Wayne series. Then, we watched Hop-a-long Cassidy. Next, it was Have Gun Will Travel, but Paladin had too many girlfriends. So, we start watching Rawhide. A couple episodes were hard to believe. Then, Wyatt Earp popped up. The series is based on true events, and each episode has been less than 30 minutes. Supposably, he never had been shot. So far, it has been interesting. I will see how long we stick with this series.
