First Henry so I joined up - Lever Newbie - H012X
Hey guys,
Been through a lot of guns and funs. Just turned 60 (by some miracle) and after 3 strokes and a 4th blood clot that stopped in my left carotid and now sits there like a hand grenade in my pocket - I'm still kickin.
I've been eye-ballin these Henrys for some time now and was doing my usual browsing online when a week before my birthday my angel of a wife said "oh go ahead". Just happened to get lucky as a steal of a deal just popped up and I grabbed it before anyone decided the price was a mistake.
I've got all big bore ARs, shotguns, AKs and other handguns and various goodies but never have I owned a lever gun even though I watch westerns all the time.
This one is a Henry H012X model in 44 mag and so far I just love it. Even found it holds 1 more round than advertised which was a nice bonus.
Joined up here just to see what others say about theirs, look for some potential mods and just hang out. Can't do much of anything else as my days of running the town seem to be over with.
Honored to be a member and may the Good Lord Bless us all.

Hey Sharkey, welcome from Nebraska. Those x models really are interesting. Don't have one...yet.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: First Henry so I joined up - Lever Newbie - H012X
Finally got to the range yesterday. Due to the strokes and a few leg issues I actually only set up to 25 yards this trip. My sons are both away playing college football so I didn't have my favorite target runners with me...
I brought the Henry and another little carbine I have that I just finished converting from 9mm to 45acp and just wanted to do a short sight in and function test anyway.
I gotta say, it was a great trip. Both rifles shot flawlessly and I am very, very happy with this Henry. Since it was only 25 yards, I was pretty much shooting through the same holes time after time but I'm hoping next trip out I'll have at least 1 of my sons with me so we can stretch this Henry's legs a bit and see how it does at a little distance.
Since becoming a member, I've found a muzzle brake that I prefer over just the simple thread protector cover. I have wrapped the trigger housing as well as the lever in leather and picked up an excellent buttstock cover with storage and shell holder as well as a sling with shell holder so this little ole lever gun and looking fairly sharp at this point.
All of the parts that I've added were all found just by browsing and reading so, without being able to list all that have helped I'll just throw out a general Thanks to All for the tips and wisdom.
