The hunting has been slow the last couple of trips out. Went out Saturday evening and nothing moving at all. After about an hour I looked down what used to be a logging road but is now grown back up with a lot of small trees and saw movement. Then I could see it was a flock of turkeys. Distance was around 150yds.There was only a small area to see them through and a few feet wide and they were getting across it with no chance of a shot. Then one stopped broad side and I was just about ready to send that one a 55gr. Sierra @ 2800FPS by Air Mail when he turned his back toward me and that is not a shot I take with the 222 on turkeys. I passed instead of maybe ruining the breast meat. I have another week and then three days at Thanksgiving to try to get one. We are supposed to get rain Thursday and wet weather is good turkey hunting days with a rifle as they are usually out along a field close to the woods. Went out today and only saw one squirrel and got that one and got bored with the lack of activity and came home and polished the wife's car. Here is the only squirrel I saw.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
