Getting a cheek weld
Getting a cheek weld
My single shot 30-30 is scoped high enough to clear the rear sight, which made a cheek weld not possible. Got this from Henry, and the situation was immediately resolved. Good cheek weld, and looks really classy.

Re: Getting a cheek weld
Great info thanks for the post I recently was looking at a Single Shot in a 223. But when looking at mine in 357 and taking cheek weld into consideration I wondered about cheek weld with a scope as my 357 has a red dot on it So what size cartridge fits those loops. Are they to big for 223? Oh and how about a picture we need a picture

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Just read on the Henry site the loop are adjustable. So should work for 223.

That is made by Simply Rugged, why don’t you order one direct from them with your own choice of color, tooling and loops? They make excellent products, I really like their OWB pancake holsters. They are pretty but not super decorative like some brands.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 8:58 amGreat info thanks for the post I recently was looking at a Single Shot in a 223. That’s a nice looking addition to your rifle. I have a cheaper nylon version of it that while it was cheaper it’s not nearly as nice looking as yours. As mentioned, a pic of your rifle with the riser installed would be appreciated.

Carry my revolver every day in a Simply Rugged pancake holster, they do make good stuff.

Re: Getting a cheek weld
I see that this is a two year old thread but I had the same problem with my Henry single shot. It seemed to me that the stock was perfect for using the iron sights but too low to get a cheek weld when a scope is mounted.
I found a Beartooth Products Comb Raising Kit at Midway USA and it is a fairly economical way to address the problem.
It was a bear to put on the stock, I mean a battle, but it works. At least for me.

I looked at the month and day but not the year and was thinking is it the 27th already. I wish they made one with the Henry logo for rimfire.
