Archery
Given the time, I like to walk out back withe the recurve and throw a few arrows down range shooting instinctive.

Re: Archery
I have been a hunter with longbow for many years, and have taken lots of animals over the years. I haven’t killed any big game with a rifle for a lot of years, but I might hunt elk with a rifle this year.

Re: Archery
I always wanted to try longbows, and by the time I had gotten to a point in my life where I could afford the time and to add another hobby, I had undergone bilateral shoulder surgeries. I admire those of you who hunt with them though. A friend hunts with both a recurve and a compound. He is very accurate with either.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Re: Archery
Been shooting instinctive for 60 plus years. Shattered my Martin Mamba last year due to poor string maintenance on my part. I went to a lighter Bear Grizzly as the 68# Martin at my draw was getting painful. Both my kids shoot instinctive and my granddaughter is now getting into it

Re: Archery
Had a 50# Bear recurve when I was in high school. We used to hunt rabbits with them. My Buddy back then could hit a rabbit on the run! I kid you not. He was a lot better than me.
Probably could, but, don't think I want to string a recurve any more.

I don't think this guy would have any problem hitting a running rabbit.

Re: Archery
Read about and watch old videos of Howard Hill. I firmly believe he was the greatest archer that ever lived. I could relate some of the things he could do with a longbow, and shooting instinctively, but you would find them impossible to believe. Look him up! Google his name and be amazed!
