Love the story, Marine. We always made do with what we had when we were young, too.

Thanks, Gene. Hope you can get some shooting going, soon, what with your project. One thing I didn't mention is that as CO2 pistols go, this one is pricey at about $300. Not surprising given its features. The Williams sight, alone, runs about $70. I suspect the higher than average price tag for a CO2 pistol is why I was able to find one in stock.

John, the CO2 cartridge loads up front, not in the handle. This is a single shot and pretty slow to load with a tight loading area in the breech. Rate of fire is very slow, then. Condensation is not a problem.
I have ordered three different CO2 guns from the Crosman custom shop. All 2400KT; one 22 cal and 2 177 cal; all with the Lothar Walther barrels. My wife and I have each shot 5 to 10 thousand rounds in these Co2 guns and find them to be very accurate. Hammer spring adjusters are easy to find and cheap.
This is the Crosman custom shop site.... https://www.crosman.com/custom-shop/   I think their prices are very reasonable for what you get.

Thanks, Seabee, Doc

Seabee, as I said this is my first venture into CO2, but I wanted to start with something in roughly the same ballpark as my high end PCP and single stroke pneumatic target pistols. Didn't have to match those fine guns in accuracy, but it still had to be accurate enough for serious practice in the same type of shooting. This Crosman exceeds my expectations in that regard. When you consider what a serious PCP target pistol costs with all the support equipment, this Crosman is a real bargain.

Doc, what I really appreciate is the convenience of CO2. No expensive support equipment needed and CO2 cartridges are cheap and easy to find, even in this current run on all things air gun. I will definitely be buying more CO2 air guns, thanks to my experience with this Crosman.

I was going to comment that that must have cost a bundle, then I searched and found that the Powerlet cylinders are only $0.40 each in bulk lots. That seems reasonable to me. Tho at some point you need to run the numbers and decide it is time to switch to a PCP gun and a $500 electric High Pressure Air pump. This one is well regarded and will run off your car battery or a 110 volt AC outlet.

Nice shooting for sure. The new issue of Guns of the Old West has a nice article on the Umarex Colt C02.

Thanks, RR. I'll check it out. We actually ordered one, but the order was cancelled because of availability issues.

The story is about how to age it to look authentic. But it is a good looking air gun. They make a Remington one as well.

I recently also purchased a Co2 pistol the Crosman 2240XL which is the steel breech version with the target barrel-very accurate and fun.
I have a indoor bullet box and am able to shoot across my kitchen table into our laundry room with the trap resting on the dryer-

Love it! Most of us who shoot indoors have to get a little creative. Our 10 meter range in the basement has me in hubby's office, shooting down the hall and across our basement family room to get 10 meters. I do block off any entry to the basement when shooting for the sake of safety. I use a 22 LR rated bullet trap with a large piece of heavy plywood behind it.

Wish they made that one of yours in 22 cal NCG. I have all 22 cal and would like to stay that way. Besides those little 177 pellets are hard for big fingers to load.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

No doubt about it, in some guns 177 pellets are troublesome for some people to load. My husband with his big paws is one of them. Where I find them hard to load is in cold weather. I lose quite a few, dropping them in the snow, during winter shooting outdoors.

One of the reasons 177 is the most popular in competition is that there is a much wider variety of completion grade pellets available in the caliber. Also in the upper end competitions that use electronic scoring, 177 is the only caliber allowed.
