Buffalo hunt, June 28th, 1860
Rain let off a bit so off to the range. Some 50 yd work today with a little old west thrown in to keep it interesting (you know I can't just post plain old targets)...bet that title got some attention
Badger and me head out to track those big shaggies, and see if we can't put some meat on the table...
Located the herd a short time later...
No wind, 45F, perfect shooting weather! Shooting 250 gr LRNFP with 7.0 gn Universal, in my Henry 1860. 50 rounds, all at 50 yds.
All are from 1 knee, open sights...
Maybe the best one I have shot in a while...
and just for fun shredded an empty playing card box...
...and the 1860 Henry that did it all...
Hope you enjoyed riding along, shoot safe and as often as you can...ps my wife actually shot the buffalo with her Canon...

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Those buffalo were down by Waterton Park before the fire a couple of years ago, they got moved to somewhere in Saskatchewan I think. Not back yet, maybe this summer.
In the want ads: "Summer jobs! Looking for self motivated, adventurous young people to put flu masks on the buffalo herd...orphans preferred."
