Plus one on Chuck Connors being a gifted athlete. I heard he once switched hands shooting his rifle on the set and no one even noticed. He was that good.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Re: Fastest Draw in Hollywood
In the opening of the Rifleman pilot he actually shot without the set screw and was just as fast. The producers asked if he could hurt himself they said it was possible so they came out with the setscrew.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 10:35 amPlus one on Chuck Connors being a gifted athlete. Back then on the set they used live ammo in a lot of the scenes where possible. Chuck was always shooting the rifle and often amazed everyone with his skills.
He was remarkably accurate from the hip.

Sung by Roy Rogers & The Sons of the Pioneers, and animated by the legendary Ward Kimball at Disney's. Ward did Jiminy Crickett in Pinochio too. There's your trivia for today....

Re: Fastest Draw in Hollywood
I don't think it was a hollywood star, but I remember years ago, in a fast draw competition that the winner drew and fired in a blur. He was timed in 19/100's of a second. Sounds impossible but I remember the time distinctly.

Re: Fastest Draw in Hollywood
Probably was Hugh O'Brian who was a fast draw champion. He also played a marshal in a TV series.
