Welcome to the forum glad you joined us. Congrats on the new 45-70 and the 17. You could check the Hodgdon website. There is an online loading manual there. Please also visit our how many thread and add you Henrys to our running total http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... start=1080
https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/node.............. Here is a link to that loading manual

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Welcome to the forum from CT and congratulations on your new Henry. Definitely look for published information (like Hodgdon's) regarding your bullet and powder. Let us know what you decide and how it works for you.

welcome indeed, delighted to have you join our forum .... our Henry CCH 45-70 has proven to be one heck of a rifle .... just curious, will you be hunting with yours ... if so, what type of game .... also curious as to loading 450 gr bullets .... 405 gr is a popular bullet as are the 300 gr'ers we use in ours .... without knowing your recoil preferences/tolerances, I'd you begin with Cowboy Action loads and work your way up .... HSM produces excellent Cowboy Action and Dangerous Game ammo .... please follow the link below and add both of your Henry rifles to our community's total
