Old box of Rem. UMC .357 Mag lead SWC ammo
This is Remington UMC 357 Mag ammo that a neighbor gave some years ago that he had with his .357 revolver.
I'm thinking from 80's or late 70's maybe...the lead bullets will finger nail dent easily and wonder if I would have leading issues
if used in the Henry BB rifle?
I have been avoiding using them but I need to shoot them. Guess I could try them in my Smith 66 4 inch revolver but wondered about
the extra FPS out of a 20 inch rifle barrel.

Re: Old box of Rem. UMC .357 Mag lead SWC ammo
I had a box of them, until last year, that I bought on a Marine base back in 91. I shot them in my Marlin 1894C (it liked them) last year. I was planning to use them as target practice. But, it seemed hard to find time as I transferred from state to state during a 22 year period of service. Plus, .38s are a little cheaper to shoot. Mind you, I think I paid $10 for the box. So, it would not have been a big issue. Since you got a new Henry .357 on the way, give them a try in it.

I'll try them in my revolver and see how they shoot first. Called Remington this morning and they didn't have any info regarding FPS.
Box has a bar code on bottom so maybe from early 90's.
Thanks for your info on shooting them!

Silly me...just found out bar coding started in mid 70's! I forget the little things!

I am still working on trigger control. But, this is how the rounds shot in the 1894C. I think that I am shooting to the right because of the firm trigger pull.

Nice target GFK and Forty I bet those will do fine in the Henry. Those UMC loads are not typically very fast.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
