Range Report: Beretta 21A

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Jan 10, 2020 5:27 pm

Not a lot to report. I went with a new shooter and we only shot one magazine each at the berm. It was more to get her used to the range and how to safely handle a firearm.

We also went over the differences between a SA and DA.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Yes it shot flawless. I went over limp wristing befor we shot. It wasn’t my first choice but it was accessible in the chaos of the flooring project.

You haven’t missed anything. I had a Bobcat in 32ACP and it wasn’t any better. This is one of my least favorite firearms. I sold the Bobcat.

Picked one up last week for my sister. With the tip up barrel and the single/double action, it allows her to shoot without having to rack the slide and is easy to see if there is a shell in the barrel and unload if she wants. This 22 LR is a lot better than the cheap 25 acp she had.
Also have a PX4 storm in 9 and 40 cal. I like the single double action and the de-cocking safety.

If I remember correctly James Bond had one in 25ACP and it jammed so he went with the Walter PPK.

I have had better luck than Mr Bond. Been shooting Berettas for 40 years and have not yet had that experience. Have several in 22, 25, 32, 9 and 40 including the 22 "space gun". Granted the small rimfires are not for target just pocket protection backup but have not had a bad experience. I have also shopped and fondled Walthers for all this time but just have not made that last step yet. Still.... could happen.
