My shooting friend
I have known my friend I shoot with since 1967. We only started to shoot together in the last year. He is a very good friend and I had worked two different places with him over my time working until retiring. He always seems to have to be giving me things. He just says he can afford it when I tell him not to give me things for the things I do for him and he don't listen and will show up with a 5,000 round case of 22 ammo and don't want me to pay him for it or pay a fraction of what it cost. He recently bought some some upper mid grade SK rifle match and gave me two bricks of that and wouldn't let me pay for it. I told him I don't want to feel cheap by not paying and he just says "I have more money than you have." "It is no big deal."
So on the way to our LGS to order a few new scopes he tells me he is going to take a gamble ordering another new CZ GF 452. He said he was going to sell me the nice one he just got. I told him that would be a long shot on getting a better one and he just said "I am willing to gamble and it is kind of fun doing it."
Well any way it is now mine and I love the looks of it. I don't know why my wife and I need 4 GF's but I don't mind spending money that I got from selling my Marlin's or other guns and getting something I will shoot and not sit and gather dust. I am not down playing my lever guns. I have just moved back to bolt action shooting. I tired pretty fast of the Ruger 10/22 Target model also. It will be gone soon also. For any members who missed the rifle picture here is the rifle he just sold me. I believe if I called member Swigs he would come get it off me.

Re: My shooting friend
That is a gorgeous rifle! I do plan to order one while they are still available.
I do understand about how some types of guns can be just about perfect, but they get left in the safe to collect dust, while you keeping back to other guns you just enjoy shooting, more. It's not always logical, but, as they say, the best gun is the one you use the most. You and I are alike in our preference in bolt guns when it comes to rifles with me adding in classic single shots.

Re: My shooting friend
I also had a friend like that, but I too felt guilty in not paying at least something. I'm not a charity case either.
We're still friends, but we don't see each other any more.
Mostly it's his Wife that's the problem. She likes to impress others with the money he earned.
