O ring dimensions for inner magazine tube
I think some members have requested the o ring dimensions for the .22 lr inner magazine tube. Henry usually supplies these when they are asked; but in case you ever need one right away, the dimensions are 5/16” ID X 7/16” OD X 1/16” Wall thickness.
They can be picked up at any hardware store that supplies o rings and you can customize them by your choice of materials.

I tried finding one at a couple different hardware stores and couldn't find one to fit so I called Henry customer service and the person answering the phone offered to send me a new magazine tube which I declined and asked for an O ring. I received 2 O rings at no cost. Great customer service as always.

How often do they fail?
Mine is still original.

It's not failing that was a problem it was the ring popping off the rifle in the bag and not noticing until you go to load and can't find the o-ring.

Tim, are we talking about the O ring right above the mag tube latch? If so, I don't understand how it could just fall off.
Sorry, maybe I'm confused.

I believe it is because the design is cheap.I don't understand how it could just fall off.
Never have had the problem in my Marlin tube feeder rimfires.

Hmm...guess it would be a good idea to have a spare or two on hand.Ojaileveraction wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 11:54 amI believe it is because the design is cheap.I don't understand how it could just fall off.

Seems like it would have to actually break, to fall off.

.
Depends on the Henry rifle model. Some of them have a deeper grove the o-ring sits in. Others there is very little keep in place like when pulling the rifle out of a scabbard or gun bag. The o-ring gets rubbed off.
