Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Tis the way I feel about the 38-55..
Wouldn't really mind having one,but then there are dies, cases, bullets, molds, oh wait I have a blame mold fer a gun I don't even own.

Exactly why I havent bought a 30-30 or a 35 Remington. Im not buying a gin that I need to buy brass bullets and dies for. I already have more than I need.

I can't wait until you fellers start discussing the "need" for a Long Ranger in 358 Win (308 Win necked up to 358).

Re: .357 mag vs 35 Remington
the debate has been ongoing for over 110 years .... granted, it doesn't seem to have the intensity that it did back in the 60's when I hunted with my grandfather's bear hunting club .... back then it inspired (usually) good natured conversations around the fireplace at the hunting lodge .... I well remember a few times the chatter continued out to the back yard where targets were setup and shots were fired .... with the introduction of the 30-06 and so many other calibers, I suspect that the 30-30/35 chatter has abated a good deal
