Yeah, there is quite a bit of logging in the area, but they left quite a bit of space treed around any of the multitude of lakes. The clear cut areas are 4-5’ now, which makes it hard to see deer in them, but some areas are more like 2’ so you can glass the edges for bedded bucks.

I got the new 930 outfor ducks on Thursday. Amazing. It’s a game changer having a semi auto. It was the wettest day I can remember, but the duck action was nonstop! The new gun did its job flawlessly, and I have started to fill the freezer!

The next 4 pics are stills from a video I shot. Unfortunately they want to post in reverse order, so it will be one pic per post.

My set up with decoys and wind ducks. Note the six birds up high...

Re: Semi Auto vs O/U for recoil reduction?
I was shooting fairly high power steel shot waterfowl loads, and shot about 5x as many as I would on a normal day, and wow. Talk about a successful change of guns to solve a problem! I could have shot a couple more boxes if it hadn’t got dark. With my pump gun, my shoulder would have been very unhappy after a 1/2 dozen shots. I had zero irritation after 24 shots!
