Wife's Grand Finale 452 ready to go

Post by bandit1250 » Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:33 pm

I had time this morning to get my wife's rifle set up for her. Took it apart and did the trigger work on it. Set it at 12 oz. like I did mine and mine after wearing in is now 9 oz. I shimmed the creep out of it and it passed the bump test fine. Pretty sweet trigger now and she likes it. I put the same thickness shims in the barrel channel that is in mine. If it doesn't shoot well with them in it is easier to take them back out or move them to a different spot than to make them up and install them at the range. Wiped it down real well and put it back together and put a Flaig's Ace steel trigger shoe on it to make a wider better feeling trigger. Then I put the engraved rings that came with the rifle on it and then topped it off with a 3-9x33 AO Compact gloss scope. The gloss looks nice on the shiny bluing on this rifle. The rings are higher than I like but still not a problem with seeing through the scope with no raising of the head. When I find a 40 mm objective gloss finish scope I will get it and put it on for her.

Nice. Of the 3 scopes you posted, I would have gone with that one as well. It suits the rifle.

Very nice looking set up Bandit and the wood in that rifle is outstanding. Did you buy from a local shop that already had it or just have him order it in.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

We have three in my family now that have a Grand Finale that all came from Bud's sight unseen until they were sent to our dealer. We took the chance on getting a decent one and came out OK. Was a little worried about taking the chance after seeing some real plain stocks on some folks GF's showed on the forums. Here is mine that I ordered from Bud's. Second picture is my son-in-laws.

They all look good Bandit. I think CZ probably tries to put good wood on all of those. I have looked at them online.
