John Sandford / Virgil Flowers Fans

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Oct 04, 2019 10:00 am

There was a new release a few days ago, "Bloody Genius" hit the market and it downloaded to my Kindle just in time to make my day long, three appointment visit to the VA a lot easier to bear. You military guys know how that goes, "Hurry Up!, and wait..." :D I think those big thigh pockets on the utilities were designed to house a paperback novel. (My time in the Corps was Way before the Kindle.). When we deployed, I took an extra cruise box filled with 200 paperbacks... King, L'amour, WEB Griffen and the like.

I am about 80% thru the new Sandford, several of the crossover Davenport characters check in. It's been good so far. :D

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I think we are kindred brothers. I read three or four books a week. I am half way into Sandford's newest and loving it.
Virgil Flowers is one of my favorite characters.

WEB Griffin has a new one coming out soon as well. I've read all of his and his sons work.

Just finished Craig Johnson's latest Longmier novel

I have a Nook and there are over 400 books on it, and we have a large book case in the front room that is full.
That's why the Nook, no place to store any more hard back.

I have read the "Corps" series so many times I have had to tape the covers back on many of them, same with the Brotherhood series. They bring history to life. ;) Big fan of Stephen King's writing, although I can do without his political leanings. After all the hype, I did finally read the "Gunslinger" series.... ... His Best Work Ever. I wasn't as thrilled as the millions in ecstasy over it. I liked Dreamcatcher, It, Bag of Bones, and many of his older writings a lot more. I also liked the Mr. Mercedes trilogy.

I read a lot ... And reread a lot. The house is filled with books.

Re-reading is one of the benefits of getting older. All those new stories!
