.
Soft?
Softer recoil than my .30-30
Not so soft sounding. The LR sounds off like a cannon.

I ordered the optic of choice, the 2.5 - 8 x 36 from Midway USA, though not the least expensive vendor one of the most reliable with honorable mention to Brownell's.

Haven't shot the Long Ranger yet, but I hear it's a soft shooting rifle. Would you agree?

Here's my Henry Long Ranger in 308 Winchester with a Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40mm. I'm gonna take her out next weekend and sight her in.

First 7 shots out of the box at 100 yards. 6.5 Creedmoor. Very mild recoil....

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
