Never shot or handled a BL, but my friend that lived in Fla. had a Winchester 9422 that was butterly smooth and shot well.
Ever since I've wanted one, but they do demand a premium price.
That and I've never seen one locally that was for sale.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
This thread was two pages back on ‘my posts’ meaning it’s been too long since I’ve plinked. I got home from the hospital two weeks ago today and have been pre-occupied with my garage project.
This morning‘s shooter was this Winchester single shot 68. It’s fun to get into the rhythm of loading and cocking in two separate steps. Since it was warm and sunny with no wind I took my time and shot at the gongs offhand at 35 yards. It took me five shots to hit the first time then I hit it again almost every time. I don’t think I missed twice in a row in the 50 or so shots I made. I keep telling myself I need to bench shoot this on paper but walking outside still in my pj’s in the early morning sun makes me lazy and the prep time for plinking is zero.

Sounds lije a good morning there Gene.
I got out for a few minutes here a little bit ago.
Been sprinkling and drizzling rain off and on today.
Left eye was a little blurry, but I still managed a decent group.
Just had one sandbag sitting on the arm of a chair. The loner on the RH target was the first shot.
A couple guys and I were talking about shooting ambidextrous, and I haven't done any in a while so I pulled out the ole M60 and gave it a go.

Those old 67s and 68s are about as good as it gets in a single shot bolt 22. Great work, Gene.

Interesting, I’ve never tried left hand shooting other than with a handgun in drills. My son is left handed and when I see him shoot it’s just wrong.Vaquero wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 7:10 pmSounds lije a good morning there Gene.

I can shoot left and right handed equally bad. I’m left eye dominant but have floaters in my left eye. I can shoot faster right-handed because I don’t have to wait for the floaters to clear.

I am cross eyed dominant, meaning I am right handed and my left eye is dominant. I've always managed to shoot rifles and handguns right handed, though. Just a matter of adapting as needed. In fact, when shooting handguns, I can switch between my right eye and left eye in a single shooting session.

I’m naturally left-handed and left-eyed. Shooting rifle right handed and eyed is actually quite easy. Pistol is a whole different ballgame. I can shoot pistol okay as a righty it’s the magazine changes that kills me.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:27 amI am cross eyed dominant, meaning I am right handed and my left eye is dominant. I’ve shot revolvers two at a time before and it was easy going back and forth as I alternated shooting.

Me, too. Right handed, left eye dominant.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:27 amI am cross eyed dominant, meaning I am right handed and my left eye is dominant. I can't quite bring myself to shoot left handed (rifle or revolver) and I don't shoot nearly as well as you do, but I do shoot well enough to be satisfied by my results most of the time. I'm my only competition, so I'm just happy with the sport, regardless.

Same for me. I really am my only competition, but I do push myself pretty hard.
