I've noticed that Quiets do tend to ricochet a bit more and others have reported it, too. Probably the low velocity. I recently picked up some Quiet Segmented and may try those. With the segmented, the bullet is supposed to break up on contact, so that may reduce the ricochet tendency.

I haven’t been plinking much although have more than I’ve posted. Today the light was good enough for me to see the traps so I brought the Henry SGC out.

I bought some AR500 steel gongs to hang but they are still on the gun chest.

They were made for .223/5.56 at 100 yards. I’m thinking .22LR at HV will spatter at 50 yards and SV will bounce back.

I have one of those set up as a swinging target at just 25 yards. Have shot it with pellets and CBs, Quiets and now and then SV. Never had any issues with ricochets or bounce back.

Hey Gene, I have a few of those that I shoot here in the yard.
I've blasted them with everything from a .177 pellet rifle to a 444 and have never had any issue.
15 to 50+ yds.
I did break a second 5/16" bolt with those ole 325+ gr cast and the 444 one day last week. :o ;)

Since I had two posts saying it was safe to shoot rimfire at 35 yards I decided to hang ‘em and shoot ‘em. But I had to tromp through the mud to do it.

They are a lot easier to see painted orange and really make a lot of noise when hit. If hit off-center they spin. It’s dusk so I shot just one tube of HV.

I like these because without the laces they slip on and off and are easy to clean.
