Saturday April 20 plinking and CB patrol.....

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Apr 21, 2024 11:00 am

Results after a spring tune and more relaxed shooting with my new Ruger Vaquero 44 Mag and was much better hitting my swinging plates and steel from distance. Yeah the two wild shots were the first and then adjusted my hold and sight placement! Also the Carpenter Bees are out and brought along the Pardner 410 single shot and some 3 inch #9 shells. Results 2 CB's down and a pine cone!

Doesn't get more basic than a nice 410 single shot. Brings back a lot of memories.

I enjoy shooting the Carpenter Bees with an old Red Ryder. I miss about 95% of the time, but when you do eventually connect, its so satisfying.

I used to make up some loads in 38 spl brass with oatmeal.
Just a dab of powder, but I don't remember what I used.

Sounds like another good day up there, forty.

I like that idea, since you can shoot towards the house with it and not have damage.
Some of those bees hover up by the eaves and I have to watch the angles, those BBs occasionally come bouncing back at me.
