Feeding problem
Feeding problem
My Frontier works and feeds perfectly as long as I keep it straight up and down but if I even slightly turning it counter clockwise the the nose of the round pops up and will not feed. It wouldn't be a problem except when I want to do a round check to see if there is one left so as not to dry fire it. Are all Henry 22's do this? If so I will just have to live with it, if not does anyone have a fix?

Re: Feeding problem
My H001 will do that, too. It's just gravity pulling the round out of alignment. I discovered it just like you did, by tilting the receiver to see if there was another round left to shoot. But there's an easy solution (other than counting) to avoid pulling the trigger on an empty chamber. Fill the magazine with LR ammo followed by a .22 Short as the final round so you can hear the difference when it's fired and know that the magazine is empty.
Give it a try. It works.

Re: Feeding problem
I’m guessing when you work the lever and check the chamber you are short cycling the action. It is easy to do. Make sure you open it briskly so that at the end of the cycle there is a slight bump.
When others shoot my H001’s this often happens but seldom when I shoot them. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks SH I will check it out as soon as I get it back together. Usually I disassemble a gun as soon as I get it but for some reason I ran a patch through the bore and shot it.

Re: Feeding problem
SH you nailed it I was short stroking the lever. I don't have that problem if I work the lever with a little more authority. Thanks again.

You are welcome. Don’t forget CT’s idea about the last round being a short.

Re: Feeding problem
My evil Roy started that after 1000 rds.
I researched and found where someone changed the lifter spring to a ball point pen spring, so I did that. Haven't had a miss load misalignment since
