Henry lever 22lr side gate midification possible

Hey everyone i have a henry h001 22lr and i was wondering if it is possible to get a side gate added by my local gunsmith of course just trying to see if ot is possible before i go in and wast his time with something impossible

This is most likely not possible or practical.
The receiver would have to be designed and machined for a load gate as well as the ability for the rounds to follow into the tube and feed into the chamber with a cartridge lift.
A gate would have to be custom made for the opening as well.
Bottom line is if the rifle was NOT designed for it, it is unlikely anyone would attempt it except as a very dedicated experiment.
Marlin originally designed a side load .22 but it did not work well and they reverted to a tube load.

Welcome to the HRF!
As Spock would say, "Fascinating." Sure would be something if you could successfully accomplish such a mod. I have a suggestion. Why don't you write Henry and ask if it could be done on your Henry .22LR? I'm certain they wouldn't do it as they don't do "special order" services. But just to see if the rifle's internal configuration could maintain the change.
And agree with CT_Shooter. Very tough times in your country recently. Sure hoping it de-escalates real soon.

As mentioned, 22lr side loader was tried but the bullets can not take the trip through the gate.
The are rather flimsy compared to Centerfire ammo.
