H001 Front Sights

I have seen many YouTube videos that say the front sight on their H001 Classic are plastic. Granted, some of those videos are two or three years old. Last night I tested mine with a magnet and the entire front sight assembly is steel, even the hood. The alloy parts are the receiver and barrel band. Even the band that holds the front sight onto the barrel is steel. Does anyone know when or if Henry changed the material of the front sight from plastic to steel?

Very early H001s did have plastic front sights, but they are now made of metal, as you discovered. Those who have older H001s with plastic sights can contact Henry and they will replace them with the newer metal parts. No charge.

My factory front sight and band were plastic. Henry sent me metal replacement upon my request. Seems like it was around 2001 that I purchased mine.

Only problem I had with my front sight is that it was too short. Henry sent me a taller one no charge. It's perfect now.
