I made a change to my Henry Frontier over the week end. I removed the Japan made 4x28 scope and replaced it with a 1-4x20 Leupold straight tube scope. I also took the lace on sling off mostly just to be sure it wasn't causing the wood to discolor under it. Been on there several years and finish is still like new. May leave it off for a while as I don't hunt with it any way. Been selling my rifles off but the Henry was a gift from my wife so it will stay here.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Bandit, I have been looking at that Leupold and the VX-3i 1.5-5x20 for my Ruger 10/22 TD, how do you like it?

I really like the scope. They just seem to look right on lever rifles and other small guns. If you don't need more power for target shooting they are perfect squirrel and rabbit hunting scopes and keep your gun light. I have one of the not to often seen Leupold 2.5 Compact straight tube scopes in like new condition I am going to sell since I sold off some Marlin 39A's I won't need to keep it.

That Leupold 2.5X compact is a dandy little scope. I used one for my 45-70 single shot, and I think it's about perfect for that application. It's light, has longer eye relief, and provides a little more clearance for the hammer with its compact ocular eyepiece.
