Small game rifle H001TRP

Post by dad » Wed Jun 26, 2019 5:24 pm

I have been fowling with great interest the wrong sight issues. When they first came out I bought a 22lr and 22mag Small game carbines. When all was said and done I got a refund for both. I went to look today and the Rifle had a shorter front sight and the carbine had a taller front sight and they both seamed to have a different Skinner rear sight. The base seams lower than I remember. I bought the SGR in22lr and took it home and cleaned it. Went outside with empty Yoplait yogert container and hung it from a string and 25 yard and shot 5 shots. The ammo was Winchester 22Lr 36grhp. After 5 shots the target was off the string and on the ground. I shot 25 more times from 25 to 30 yards and didn't miss. The target looked like swiss cheese as it was danced around on the ground. I took a deep breath satisfaction and relief and then smiled. This is another great product from Henry and will go nicely with the others from them that I own. I will bench it soon and try some 40grhp and the 36grhp on paper. Warning Squirrels beware!!

You know one of these days I will have to become a "techie" so I can do that. Heck I don't even have a cell phone!

Benched the rifle today. Only had to do one turn up to get a 6 clock hold. Groups were 1/4 inch with Winchester 36grhp and 40grhp from 25 yards. Very happy with this rifle. Squirrels are in danger that's for sure!

I think you will enjoy your SGR, I purchased the carbine and am very happy with it. Really like the Skinner sight, mine was dead on at fifty yards.
