H001L Barrel Band

Post by shoota40 » Wed Jun 05, 2019 7:59 pm

I was gifted a H001L to me from my brother in law. He never fired it and he purchased it 2013 and it has a plastic barrel band. I called Henry customer service a few days ago and they sent me a metal barrel band. I put the metal band on and it fits so loose on the front stock that the stock rattles. The barrel band also had a sharp burr on the inside surface from casting that I was lucky to notice it and file it smooth. So I put the plastic band on which is a nice snug fit. Think I will live with the plastic barrel band. The rifle also has a plastic front sight that I replaced with a High Viz front sight. The rear receiver cover is at the gunsmiths getting drilled and tapped for a Skinner rear peep sight.

Contact HenryCS again and tell them what's happened. They usually make it right with a part that fits properly.

The new barrel band fit perfect. It will be a couple of weeks before I get to the range because I am recovering from a fractured bone on my foot.

Ah bummer! Now buck up, hobble out to the range and shoot. Will help you feel better and maybe help forget about that foot for awhile :P
