A Frontier .22 lr came home with me
A Frontier .22 lr came home with me
That's the answer to the question of: "What happened at the Rice Creek Gun Fair?" As I cracked wise a while back, I seem to always come home with something when I go, this time it was a Henry. A lever .22 was on the bucket list, so I got 'er done - good price, no tax, and, most importantly, they had one . Just one Frontier in .22 lr, though. I looked through quite a stack of other versions of Henry rimfires to find it.

Good job, giving Henry's a good home is a worthy endeavour.

Congrats!!
Really hard to beat either and the combination of lever and 22 is just awesome in my opinion.

Re: A Frontier .22 lr came home with me
I know some people probably don't want to hear this, but I won one of the Frontier .22wmr's on my local FNRA banquets "Wall of Guns" a couple of years back.
Yes, I do seem to have some degree of luck with Henry's, and I'll be the last to complain.
I already had the H001 in .22lr so the .22wmr filled a niche.
Great little rifles.

What type of sights do you have on your H001?Mgderf wrote:I know some people probably don't want to hear this, but I won one of the Frontier .22wmr's on my local FNRA banquets "Wall of Guns" a couple of years back.

Just the stock buckhorn rear and hooded blade front sight.

Re: A Frontier .22 lr came home with me
I picked one up over the winter, The 20'' barrel version. It's been great gun and I love shooting it. I did turn the rear buck-horn into a flat top, but the front sight works great for me.
I've thought about putting the Henry Fancy wood on it, it's a little pricey but purdy in the pictures. Anybody do that ?

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
