new small game carbine and pump 22s

Post by Ernie » Fri Mar 22, 2019 5:46 pm

Picked up the carbine yesterday and the pump a couple of weeks ago. Very happy with both. I really like the hex barrels and am looking forward to trying out the Skinner peep. I am looking for a smaller diameter peep, any suggestions for size? If it is not raining or 30 degrees this weekend I will have to try them out.

The smaller diameter aperture depends on you front sight and your distances. Too small and it can get pretty tight, at least for my eyes. Like most things, it's try it and see, but the smaller aps are pretty cheap...

Very nice Ernie, they both look real good. Skinner sells smaller diameter inserts and they should have them listed on their website. I'm picking up my SGC tomorrow, mine is in 22mag. Hopefully it looks as good as yours!

I also have both. Put a red dot on the pump. It took about 500 rounds for me to get the pump action to where I liked it. Now its one of my favorite 22's to shoot.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I have Skinner’s .070 as well as the .096 and on my SGC I can’t see (literally) going any smaller.

Yes, .096 is what Andy ships them all with.
