H001TV 17HMR Frontier

Post by Pudsky » Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:28 pm

  • New H001TV
I just ordered a new Henry Frontier 20" in 17HMR from the local gun shop. Hopefully receive it within three weeks or so. Really looking forward to putting some rounds through that rifle. I am going to shoot it for a bit with the open sights before I decide if I want to scope it. It will look real nice next to my Long Ranger 308 I purchased last summer.

If anyone has experience with this rifle, let me know.

congrats ... your 308 Long Ranger is one heck of a versatile rife .... I've owned a 308 BLR since 1970 and it is one of my favorites .... looking forward to hearing your reports once your 17 arrives .... when it does, please be sure to add it to our How Many ? thread

Welcome and congratulations.
I have a Henry 17HMR octagon.
Great little rifle. Lives up to the 17HMR accuracy. I have a older 4x scope on it.
Super fun round to shoot.

Almost bought that one myself, ended up for the distances I will probably be shooting, getting the .22 SGC. Because of that, I would be very interested in future shooting reports. Congrats!

Good for you! Congrats and have fun with it.

Really, REALLY like my LR 308 as well. Looking forward to reloading for it later this year...

I checked on my 17HMR Frontier last week. On backorder. So probably won't be in for a bit. That's okay though, plenty of time for it to come in and still be able to pop some varmints running around the hay fields.

Great for you pudsky. Let us know how you like it after it arrives and some quality time with it. Will be interesting to me especially because I almost bought one instead of my SGC.

Finally got to pick up my new 20" Frontier in 17HMR today. I am going to try to get it out this weekend. Out of the box, the rifle looks really nice. I'll get a pic or two up when I can get to it.

OK, I was not able to get to the range last weekend, maybe not this coming weekend either. I will get a range report out as soon as I can.
