Rebuilding a Henry Classic H001
Most of my rebuild consisted of replacing the lever and trigger spring on my BKLYN NY made Classic. That and a thorough cleaning.
The trigger spring was not holding the hammer on half-cock. I had trimmed too much of the spring. Here is the new spring with slightly less than one coil removed. Good enough to take it down to about 2 1/2 pounds. This is why I replaced the lever. It is the point where the bolt is locked. After 20,000 rounds I’m a little worn at the edges too. Next to a new lever. Here is a picture of the bolt being locked into place by the old lever. It is what gives the lever that lockup snap and it was getting weak.

20,000 rounds must be some kind of milestone.

Re: Rebuilding a Henry Classic H001
While I’m waiting for daylight to take more pictures of the rebuild and clean I thought I would share this.
A grease pencil will bring the etching out. Normally I don’t care but this is an early three-digit serial numbered rifle made in New York. A terry cloth gently rubbed slowly removes the excess. I use red and white to bring lettering out and black to hide a ding. Made in USA BKLYN NY I have 18 rimfire Henrys and need to know the caliber at a glance. This is my main need and use. Yet you can dress a firearm up a bit.

You can see where the firing pin has indented the barrel.
The firing pin also shows that it has been dry fired a few times.
The lockup is good now. The bolt showed little sign of wear where the lever pressed the bolt forward.

The rifle is back together and ready for the range. It is wearing a Nikon P-Rimfire scope.
