Just bought another Henry H001 and it's not grouping nearly as well as my older Henry H001 from 1997. So far I've tried CCI mini mags 36gn and 40gn, and rem golden bullet ammo. Any recommendations for what might shoot well in these newer Henry's to avoid having to buy a box of everything to experiment?

Re: 22 ammo recommendations
Congrats on your new H001. Somewhat surprised that both grains of CCI mini mags are not working out. From what I've read on our Forum, a lot of Folk (including myself) shoot them with good results. Have you tried the CCI Std Velocity round yet?
Understood not wanting to start a collection of .22LR brands. I'm sure other Henry Folk will chime in on your Q.
Best with your search.

Welcome. In my years of shooting each gun seems to like one ammo better than the other. I shoot silhouette 22 pistol at 25 yrs with a tc contender without the match barrel and that gun loves cci blazers . Got a couple of 25's with it go figure.

.
Welcome from the TV Oregon! Did you clean it before firing it for the first time? My Henry's bore was filthy from test firing at the factory when I bought it .

Re: 22 ammo recommendations
Thanks for all the welcome comments and for all the recommendations. I'm going to try some CCI SV rounds and see if they group better. I was surprised the mini mags didn't shoot well though. They have been my mainstay for 22 plinking and squirrel hunting for many years.

Re: 22 ammo recommendations
My newest H001, (have two, and a GB), seems to really like the Winchester bulk hollow points.
My others do amazing with every style and brand I have tried (which is many).
The newest H001 isn't a bad shooter with other varieties of ammo, but it definitely does its best with the Winchester bulk
