H003T pump action
H003T pump action
Does anyone here own an H003T pump action 22LR? I was able shoot a few rounds through a brand new one and the action seemed a bit stiff. I assume it will smooth out with use. I’m interested in getting one eventually. Any likes or dislikes?

Re: H003T pump action
I’ve found the Henry pump to be a lot stiffer than the H001 lever but only because the lever is so easy. Pump actions, which is mostly shotguns, always listen up with use.

I have one and get along fine with it. It is a little stiffer than other pump rifles but it is getting better. I have one of the speed loaders that holds several magazines worth of ammo. Using this device I can do a lot of shooting with very quick reload time. Make sure you pay attention to the position of your thumb so when the bolt comes back you will be in the clear. There are some videos on U-tube about shooting a Henry pump .22.

Yeah, I smashed my thumb with the bolt once. Not pleasant but I learned quickly. Thanks for the feedback.Travlin wrote:I have one and get along fine with it. I have one Deano I like it and its very accurate. But it took well over 500 rounds through it before it got alot smoother. Its never going to be like the leverguns but when you work the action you need to work it like you mean it. I havent shot mine in a while but I do like it.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: H003T pump action
We have one and like everyone else said, the action is a bit stiff, but it's a sweet little pump 22LR other than that - great wood, octagon barrel, good balance - lots of fun to plink with. We put a Skinner rimfire groove rear sight/Lyman Globe front sight on ours - greatly improved the sight picture...

Re: H003T pump action
My H003T also has a tight, stiff action, and I can't really say that it has loosened up very much after +/- 500 rounds, but you soon get used to it. The accuracy and overall quality of the H003T more than make up for the tight action.
