How to scope a youth .22 lever

Post by Ozarkwoodswalker » Fri Nov 09, 2018 4:55 am

Do I have to put a rail on or will 3/8 rings attach to the top of the receiver. (Maybe a really dumb question...but I figured out long ago no one was likely to mistake me for a rocket scientist anyway...so I just ask away and am shameless unconcerened by Snickers ..)

The 3/8" rings for the dovetail will fit the Henry youth model just fine. I would get a good set like Leupold or Burris. Weaver or cheaper rings will be OK for your Henry also. I have 22's with the cheaper 3/8" tip off rings and never had any issues. You will have to decide on the height you need to work with the size of the objective on your scope. Also depending on size of the ocular which some brands can be quite large you may need to use a hammer extension to cock the rifle.
