Also bought 5 boxes of Hornady 45gr ammo from Graf & Sons - Also on sale.

I'll post a report once I get it to the range. Will be adding Williams Receiver sights and Lyman front sight and using the new-one for Lever Action Silhouette.

Congrats in advance on your new acquisition! Look forward to hearing/seeing how it does for you. No doubt you'll be pleased.

Congrats! I think you’ll be happier with a 20” barrel as an all around gun.

Curious why you would go with a Williams receiver sight over one of the many Skinner options? I presume it’s for a bit more adjustment? I have to be honest and say I’m biased towards Skinners sights, and that’s part of the reason I bought the SGC. I think the Williams sights look a bit “contraption like”, while Skinners look like they belong. I can’t imagine one being much more accurate than the other?

I can speak to why I got one. The Williams has a finer elevation adjustment. The Skinner is limited to a half turn of the eye. No in between. The Williams is also half the price of the Skinner. I had to put a front sight ramp on mine to get it high enough but that was pretty cheap too. I don't find it all that ungainly looking at least in this guise. The ones with the micrometer adjustments are easier to use but do look a little clunky but in a classic sort of way.

Aesthetically looks great to me. Nice wood you got too.

I’m thinking of the side mounted models on the 1894s etc. That looks far better. Williams has no photos (that I could find) of the Henry version on their website.

It's not Henry specific it is a rimfire groove version. I did have to file it a bit to get it to slip on. BTW, I just measured the amount of sight adjustment a half turn is on the Skinner sight I took off my BBS. It's .012 inches. Sight radius on my 24" barreled gun is about 26". On a 20" gun it would be around 22. .012 inches on a 22 inch radius is .031 degrees or 1.8 MOA. That's about an inch at 50 yards. On a shorter barreled gun it gets worse. For an $80 sight I think that's a bit too coarse. If you're planning on doing any 100 yard shooting (it is a .22 mag after all) 2 inch increments on the sight adjustment isn't really good enough. Any cheap scope will have 1/4 MOA adjustments.

Well, it’s always good to learn something new. I’m waiting on a taller front sight for my SGC as I couldn’t zero it as is. I think I’ll be doing the majority of my shooting with it in the 25-50 yard range, so I’ll probably be fine with what limited adjustment I have. I’m using it primarily for hunting so I’ll just aim a tad low if I need to.

Williams sight for two reasons
Reason A. I already have a Williams sight and Lyman front sight - taken off a Marlin 39A.
Reason B. What rwortman said - finer adjustment.
I'll use the rifle for lever Action Silhouette matches and like the "adjustability" of the Williams sights. True, I probably won't move the sight much for shots from 40 to 100 yards, but sight-in will be more precise. And if I change ammo brand - Like CCI TMJ to Hornady critical defense I can make the minor adjustments needed.
Reason C- and I'm cheap - I already have one.

If you’re shooting matchs, it makes sense to go with finer adjustments, and having one already, it makes a TON of sense!

Thanks Redthies.
I love BC. Got to travel all though that province a couple of years ago. Impressed by the wine country and "ice wine " - could put that stuff on pancakes!
