Great to hear, glad it's being taken care of. I never doubted that it would be! Keep us posted on your sight swap results!

Awesome! I too was without doubt Patrick would make it right for ya. Keep us posted.

Thanks Petey,
Took the rear stock off and cut it down to a 12" length of pull. Perfect now for my short arms. Just waiting on the sight and the swivels and sling. She will be done then. I took her out again today, she is a sweet shooter just have to aim at 6:00 or a little lower. I will keep you up to date.

I got tired of waiting on the sight from Henry (still not here yet) I found a Lyman 17AUG .584 high Globe Sight. It is sighted in perfect now. This sight is almost a little too high. But the rifle is dead on shooter now

If you decide you like that Lyman Globe, you may want to try the next size down. We have a .494" Lyman Globe on our SGC. We were able to sight it in at 25 yds using CCI Standard 22LR with 1 1/2 turns from bottom on the Skinner peep stem...

You're going to love that Lyman Globe. I found that the Shaver inserts make it even better, as they give you more detailed choices of "reticles." The hardest part for me was to stop tinkering with different variables and just call it good. Ended up with the "skinny post."

.494 would be perfect on the Lyman. I used the .584 because I had that one laying in a parts drawer that I have had for several years. It's working well but the Skinner sight is up a little high for me. I am going to buy the .494 sight when I recover some of my funds. Been buying to many levers as of lately. But man I Love those lever 22's :)

Esquared, that is a fine looking sight insert. I have the Lyman insert that resembles that one in mine. Like it.

Ok guy's,
Took the Henry back out today to fine tune her in. I have the sights shooting one hole at point of aim at 25 yards. I do believe that I am going to buy one size shorter Lyman Globe Sight to lower the Skinner rear sight just a little bit. I had the sight stuffed in a parts drawer for several years, but it is exactly what this little rifle needed.

So here is what has been done to this rifle to make it fit me and more my own, I do Love this rifle now. It is just a great shooter.
1. Cut the rear stock down 1.5" to make it 12" length of pull( could not match finish very well but it does not bother me either)
2. Took the front sight off (to low for 25 yards) replaced with Lyman globe sight.
3. Put a Sling and swivels on her. Sure helps steady at steel plates.
4. Wrapped the lever with sawing string for leather work. Waxed cover and looks good and comfortable to use.

Get the Lyman one size shorter front globe sight and she will be done. No hurry though she is dead on just the way she is now.

I haven’t been sleeping well at night after seeing these photos. If I were you, I’d just lightly sand off the rest of the factory finish on the wood, and just do a few coats of linseed oil. It will look way better than the 1/2 and 1/2 look you have now.
