Inner Magazine Tube Won't Stay Put

Post by ESquared » Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:42 pm

Got so amped up about the progress made with the sights on my SGC 22LR, and forgot to mention that the inner magazine tube won't stay in its "locked" position, so it rotates on its own and falls free completely at random.

I can't be the only one this has happened to, right?

Is there an easy DIY fix or do I need to contact HRA? Hate to be "that guy" with my friend Patrick, but it shouldn't just fall out on its own, should it?

Did to O ring come off the end. HRA will send you new ones.

My SGC's magazine tube is a little loose, but hasn't yet fallen out. The O-ring looks like it is okay, but I always keep an eye on it. I expect someday I'll need another O-ring. Ojaileveraction has the answer; others have received help from Henry with new O-rings.

If that little guy is the culprit, it's an easy fix.

Thanks, guys! No O-ring whatsoever. Am reaching out to Patrick Hall, my new best friend at HRA. Feel like I'm turning into "that guy," but it's the little things, right? Front sight too short, no O-Ring, but still a fantastic rifle. The action is so smooth.

ExE,
Check your rifle case I've found missing O rings in mine several times.

X2 - sometimes when you pull a Henry rifle butt first out of a case, the o-ring kind of "rolls off" the end of the inner mag tube and stays in the case...

DING, DING, DING! You guys both win a prize! There is sat, right in the muzzle end of the case.

You guys rock. Thanks so much!

I have stretched the O ring and twisted it and wrapped around the end of the tube twice, like a rubber band , and it stays in place.

Same here. Ace hardware carries o-rings and they make a better fitting one. It fits tighter and is thicker. I use them on all my Henry rimfires.

This o ring, is it a rimfire thing? Don't see this with my .30-30.
