I was thinking of adding a Picatinny Rail also and ran accross this. https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.as ... 4&CAT=9854
It looks like it nice and low. You can also use the stock sights when nothing is mounted. Little more money but I think Im going this route so I can mount up whatever I want.

Looks good I like the idea that you can use factory sights as well, the one I bought sits higher.

My eyes have a hard time with the front sight as well, I so picked up the Henry Cantilever Scope mount and cut it down for my Golden Boy.
Works pretty well.

Here is the Dip Products Picatinny rail mounted. I had an old red dot that I mounted.

Clovispup and I had a holo red dot on the BBS for a year or two when we first got it. We were happy with it. We decided to try a scope and eventually went with that, but a red dot is an excellent option. Just be sure and keep a couple extra batteries on hand in case you forgot to turn it off last trip. Don't ask me how I now that.

Looks like a similar Picatinny Rail i purchased at amazon. Also open down the middle and low so the stock sights can be used.

Very nice Henry you got there Lyman. I Like the dark wood to metal contrast. Makes the Henry look really sharp.

I just used the cantilever mount from Henry and cut it down. Works for me.
