A Red dot for my new Henry

Post by Carver » Mon Apr 02, 2018 8:03 pm

I just found a riser plate that would allow me to attach my red dot sight. As the 22 cal carbine has a 3/8 in, rail nothing would fit.
Checked with several suppliers and finally
brownells had the critter that I was looking for it called the BKL 3/8 Tri mount part nbr 749-012-541.
For those of us that have old eyes we need all the help we can get.

well understood about the eyes .... we've gone to scopes on almost all of our rifles and an Aimpoint on our Redhawk .... have you decided which red dot you will use :?: .... I'm looking forward to your range and use reports .... please take a look at our How Many ? thread (link below) and add your Henry to our community total

What mount did you use for the Aimpoint?

I've debated getting one of these and modding it to fit my BBB.

I also used the same mount as Tape did -- on my H006 and also on my H012MR. Same Henry mount fit both rifles. Here is a photo of the Truglo Red Dot I had on the steel carbine.

PT, it looks like you have the Picatinny rail, I do wish I had that rail as well. Hows that truglo doing for you?

Tape,

I've changed long guns (actually most residents of my gun cabinet) in the last year or so. I no longer use this sight configuration since I sold the .357 magnum, and now have a 20-ga pump s/g for deer hunting. My son-in-law has the Truglo sight and mounted it on his new 12-ga heavy-barreled s/g. The Truglo is about the best & clearest red dot I've tried. However, I really prefer an iron ghost-ring rear sight, which is what I have on my current pump s/g.

If you really would like to have this Henry Picatinny rail, mine just happens to be for sale at this link in our Henry "classifieds." ;) http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4284
Let me know through our Henry PM, if you are interested.

BTW, your avatar is easily noticed. I often think I need to have my bug swatter next to my computer screen!

Have a good weekend....PT7
