OOOPS!.....

Post by Petey » Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:18 pm

Well I done doood it .
Yep ,Scratched my receiver cover on my H001...not too bad , but just enough a touch up would do nicely.
Anyone have any recommendations or experience in this arena?
What matches the factory paint or what should I use to repaint it? (has to be in a rattle can , no spray equip)

Thank you & HAppy Shootin!

There are several touch up products for bluing on the market:

The receiver on a H001 isn't blued - it's semi-gloss black paint. Birchwood Casey makes a "paint pen" product that may work - I have one in flat black - maybe they also make one in gloss black...

I'm guessing that any black paint-in-a-spray would do the job. Or you could re-spray it any colour you like.

Looks good! ......
I had an idea come to me... Outboard motor paint. Should be tough and hard wearing. Looking into it.

Also, Black epoxy spray paint should do quite nicely. It’s made for use on appliances. I’ve had good results using it on various metal projects. I wonder if spray on undercoating would work.....

I gouged the receiver cover on my H001 about a week after I bought it when my screwdriver slipped. I emailed Henry and they sent me a new one.
