look at the can of spray paint, I love how the mfg date is sep 02 2016 and its not even sep yet, the product was made in the future and used in the past
That's so the shelf life will last longer.

The date is September 16th of 2003. Remember the military uses the year, month, then day.

I like the Henry. I really like the saddle and hat. I recognize it from your Winchester Classic photo over on MO. It is a great set for gun photos.

How did you get the pitting?

It is not the caliber of the gun, but the caliber of the man holding it.

Old guns, old cars, and old men all lose something when they are set aside, only to be put on display.
Traveling East, searching for that which is lost.

Nice job, SH! Image

The beauty about the painted Henry covers is that you can do whatever you like to them, and if you're not happy with the result you can either just change it again or buy a replacement. It's a win-win all round. ;)

Any idea of any way to make a faux case hardened look? My son did son car painting at one time and seemed like there was something they did ...put some clear cellophane on wet paint and pulled it off to give metal dadh boards a marblized look or something....I will have to ask him....just wondered if there was something similar you could do to mimic the case hardning look
