H001 Receiver Cover Finish
I love my Henry rimfires but the least favorite thing about them is the black paint on the receiver cover. I've buffed the paint off and applied G96 Gun Blue Cream on them. They don't really turn blue as they are not steel but it does give it a nice finish. You need to rinse them in a neutral bath after applying the finish to stop the chemical action.
Most people take a hundred year old rifle and try to make it look new. I take a new rifle and try to make it look a hundred years old.

Re: H001 Receiver Cover Finish
Thanks. What is great about doing this is I can just buy a new receiver cover and take them back to original. If I did this to a Winchester 9422 it would be butchering them.

That is a nice thing about the replaceable cover. You can experiment all you want and still have the chance to go back with no blue job needed.Sir Henry wrote:Thanks.
