Fancy Stock Set for an H001T

Post by Sir Henry » Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:35 pm

I think this rifle would be a good candidate for a fancy stock set. The current furniture is okay but it has a ding in the forearm. I bought the Brasslite receiver cover a few years ago. The scope is a Malcolm.

The rifle is a magnum which makes its an H001TM. Forgot the M.

I can’t see any reason to disagree with you on that.

Sir Henry.
Have you put a Fancy Stock Set on a rifle.
How was the inletting?
There a range from excellent to not so good on the Henrys I have. The Big Boy with the better wood has and Excellent fit but I've thought that was more of a custom job because it's a big boy.
I did get a replacement stock from HRR for an octagon but the fit to the stock was no better than any of the ones I have.
Understand this is not a complaint. My Octagons are wonderful rifles so much so that if I can eventually put Fancy Stock Sets on them I would like to.
The FSS look like Heirloom quality wood for and Heirloom quality rifle.
I just worry that if They are not fitted by a professional.
Like can HRR install the new wood?

Whoa! Love that Malcom scope. After seeing the magic you can work to make the standard painted cover look more authentic, I think some fancy wood on that one would be impressive.

Thanks. Most people try to make a 100 year old rifle look new but I try to make a new rifle look like it's 100 years old.
