Small Game Carbine in .22WM-Ammo thoughts?
I am picking up a SGC in .22 Mag today to go with my SGC in .22 LR (I like the skinner peeps and classic looks). I have been shooting some .22 mag in my NAA minis, but with such short barrels you aren't in it for top accuracy past 7 yards. What are you folks finding that works well in the Henrys? I have used a lot of CCI over the years in LR, some Winchester, and others. But my .22mag experience is limited. Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in the ammo recommendations for this carbine, too. It will very likely be my next Henry.
I look forward to your first (and every) range report.

I have had good luck with the CCI in my Marlin; namely the Cootums.
Academy has the Maxi Mag 40g hollow points (basically the same thing) for $11.99 as well as some 40g fmj.

I'm also interested in the CCI 35g game point, but never shot any.

Thanks for the input, looks like we will be getting out over the weekend to warm her up. I have several different types to try and see what see likes. Some 30 and 40gr HV stuff, and some standard velocity 40gr as well.

Yeah rr1220, that's kind of what I'm seeing out of my Marlin bolt job.
Like the CCI SV for LR, the chootums are a good starting point for WMR, I think.

Nice shooting for sure and looks like that ammo is a keeper. I dont have a 22 mag in a rifle but I like the round. If Henry comes out with the AR-7 in 22 mag I will get one. Al

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I wish Henry made the SGC in .17HMR. I have several in .22LR and .22WMR but think the 17 would have been a better choice for a magnum. Winchester Varmint HV shoots the best in mine. Its a polymer tipped 30 grain bullet at 2250 fps.
