Forty he had a high bid.
Say the bid at the time he bid was $700, and he bid say $900.
Well then his bid only goes $5 over whatever the bid is, the rest is in reserve.
So the showing bid is $705, then next bidder comes along and say adds $5.
then your reserve automatically bids over him and it goes to $715.
Unless a bidder bids more than what you already said your high bid is you will still win.
Does that help any?? Hope I explained that well enough.

Most times if I find something I would like, I just bid what I'm willing to spend and then wait.
On occasion, if it's something I really like I may bid again.

Never count your bullets when your sittin' at the table.....There'll be time enough for countin' when the shootin's done.

Possible highest price that bidder is willing to pay? So computer will automatically bid up to max. Just guessing, don't know how these online auctions work.

I could see paying that for a entry or mid level competition gun, but for a OTC standard barrel/ sights/ stocks, that's crazy.
