Marlin 101 Single Shot

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:16 pm

This Marlin 101 action was made by Sears. I picked it up for next to nothing and put the broken scope on it. I believe this is an auto-safe single shot. When you close the bolt the safety is on and needs to be taken off safe to shoot. You do so by pulling back on the center of the bolt.

Not much to look at but is fun to plink with.

It wears a Weaver Marksman 4X scope.

I glued the broken adjustment to the tube. If this doesn’t work the scope is going to landfill.

I own one just like it; a Sears Ranger Model 103 that belonged to my father-in-law. He bought it new when he was a teenager in the 1930's. It's in great condition and is a lot of fun to shoot.

Thanks for sharing. Some Marlin fans collect those store brand Marlins. That's one of the best known and they are good shooters. Love to see a range report.

I have a store brand Marlin 35 Rem., and another in 30-30. ;)
Made for Sears, and Western Auto, both great shooters.

Waiting on the range report Sir Henry.
