Hey All,
RR you know there really is only one solution - buy both - nothing wrong with a high wall AND a 45-70 is there? Couldn't you download the 45-70 for less recoil since you reload? Hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer...

Hang in, there, RR. The 1885 may not have the romance of the Sharps, but it is the stronger and more modern action with a shorter lock time, more on the order of your 1860. It will be no problem making the transition and, hey, it is a John Browning design.

Re: Guess what I just ordered...
I have emailed my dealer to see what the current situation will do to any of his shipments that were supposed to start moving a few weeks ago. This is sure a long drawn out affair buying this rifle. And now I have spent all the money on toilet paper....no I actually haven't. I did mention to him that if it continues to be an issue to get, I will look at other options.

Re: Guess what I just ordered...
Ok....message from my dealer...MY rifle is definitely in his shipments, still held up in the USA as the licensing new rules take effect and the clogged pipe of stuff for everybody gets moving. It is coming. I will stop looking at other options, take a pill and relax for now. As my retirement savings take a beating right now I may have to buy it like Johnny Cash....one piece at a time.
