I don't know how well a checkered pistol grip rifle would go in and out of a scabbard for packing horseback. Likely why saddle rifles have straight stocks.

Whatever way you go RR I dont think you will have an issue I have shot both like Jim and it just dont matter to me.

Well at this point I am ok either way, as long as it shoots & packs horseback once in awhile...

...my dealer says don't give up on the high wall, he is working with Taylors on it. I will hang tough for awhile yet.

The pistol grip won't work for me, just not meant for a scabbard.

He was told it was but everything in Italy was screwed up due to the flu, orders messed up, stuff not shipped, etc. Taylors had major disruptions as well, and now of course there is a gun buying frenzy so everything they get there is a demand for right away. There are 5 of them in 45 Colt in 1 shipment that was supposed to ship from Uberti before the end of June. 1 is mine. Uberti is closed for the month of July every year. It's been a journey for sure, but I will wait. One day it will show up. Like I said, I have not spent a penny yet. Told the guy when it shows up, I have the cash ready to go.

Might want to have it gold plated and bolted to the wall when you get it...a keeper for sure!
